Overview

Northerners settled on tasty morsels of fertile land. Their story, at first glance, is banal to the extreme, but if you dig deeper, these roots are as tangled as an old elm. Some chroniclers attribute their origins to indigenous northern human tribes living by the Delin River, who, being displaced by hordes of zoomorphs, were forced to seek a new place under the sun. Others believe that these are refugees from the Amosaras lands, which at one time were being torn apart by predators from the Kingdom of Mortum and Kingdom of Rede. But personally, as a pragmatist, I consider both theories true — these were refugees from various bloody places, trying to save themselves and find peace.

Some smart guy you are. Yeaaah… y-you’re right… it was the Amosssaras… they fled. But their life wasn’t swww-eet for long, because the Northerners sailed in after them and slaughtered every single one, and ground their remains to use as oils and fertilizer for the bloody soiill. There’s your “peace”… in the ground.

They found a truly ideal place to live and breed their kind. The land was rich, the water clean. But the trouble was that there were too many competitors for this paradise. And so, one fierce Northern clan decided that they simply were not going to leave. They began to sweep everyone away: both the indigenous inhabitants and those wretched refugees. Everyone who was not “one of us.” However, the wisdom of the chieftain manifested not only in slaughter. Some clans, seeing the might of the invaders, swore allegiance to the Northerners and pledged loyalty. The chieftain understood: at the stage of early expansion, being in the minority, relying on simple vassalage is foolish — it is too fragile. Therefore, to the first tribes who shared blood, traditions, and values with them, he granted something more than life. He granted them a New Home. The House of Guardians. House od Vokter.

At present, the Kingdom is an indestructible shield, the defender of the southwestern borderlands of the Udenis Empire. They are zealous adherents of old traditions, the very anchor that prevents the Empire from finally plunging into the godless chaos of newfangled reforms.

But peace within the Empire is bursting at the seams. Relations with neighbors from the Kingdom of Mortum have heated to the limit. Vokter watches with disgust as Mortum has effectively renounced the Sole Church, plunging into the abyss of occult witchcraft and dark rituals. For the righteous warriors of Vokter, this is not just politics — it is a challenge. Swords are already loose in their scabbards, and we stand on the brink of local wars, where a brother in the Empire is ready to spill the blood of a heretic brother.
