Overview
A surprisingly peaceful village with an incredible lake at its very heart. The locals consider this lake sacred and guard it fiercely against foul creatures and unholy gazes. However, this doesn’t prevent them from using it—mostly indirectly, yet still using that same water Hell, they just dug a bunch of wells to produce the premier sin of all ages—Alcohol.
Indeed, you won’t find another place in the world where they brew such Ale. Its color resembles molten amber, and its head—thick as mountain cream—lingers on the surface until you’ve drained the mug to the very bottom. Each swallow echoes with the sweetness of sun-drenched grain and the icy freshness of the sacred depths, making one forget the road dust and the hardships of the journey.
Beyond this, they craft alchemical water solutions of such purity that even capital mages do not disdain them. Though, in those intricacies, I am not well-versed.
Forgot about the paper itself
Scenting the ale in my mind, I almost forgot to write about the very thing I’m using to ink these lines. Right beneath my quill is the fruit of local craftsmen’s labor. This paper is white as the skin of a blond babe, and it holds the ink in a strictness that no imperial law could ever impose on its subjects.
Defense and Order: There isn’t much in the way of city guards here, which is logical. Most of the population consists of humans with a “seasoned” military past. Innso is a village of veterans. The old-timers here remember the crunch of bone and the ring of steel better than their own names. It’s worth noting that a patrol of elite warriors from Barre le Rei Castle makes a point to visit their old “comrades” a couple of times a day.
The village is enclosed by a sturdy palisade, and the local militia knows their lands like the back of their hands. Even without the Lord’s support, this place is capable of repelling any mangy bandits. After all, look at the year 3716, when the village withstood a surge of armed zoomorph refugees. The veterans didn’t let a single outsider into the halls of the “sacred place,” and those who dared to force their way were boldly sent to meet their progenitors.
