Overview
A Masterpiece of Exquisite Treachery
This Kingdom is a masterpiece of sophistication and the apogee of solving critical issues through whispers in the shadows. Like a skilled collector, it took only the best from its neighbors, discarding the husk: From the Kingdom of Rede, they adopted the drive for identity through high culture, majestic architecture, and the arts. From the Kingdom of Mortum, they borrowed the mysteries of the high nobility—a local, almost occult circle of “chosen ones,” forbidden to outsiders. From the Kingdom of Vokter, they took the discipline of military and craft order.
But the cherry on top of this cake is their own essence of cunning and espionage. Wenn hides under the sweet powder of an innocent but very agile red-eyed rabbit, whose snow-white “coat” always leaves behind a barely noticeable, yet invariable trail of blood.
The Kingdom of Wenn stood by a thread from becoming merely a footnote in dusty chronicles. In the most dire times, when ruin seemed inevitable, this land birthed perhaps the greatest schemer of all times and peoples — Eloi de Wenn.
W-well, you are exaggerating, chronicler. The greatest… You snot-nosed kids can’t compete with our “snot-nosed kids”.
This figure managed to turn imminent defeat into triumph. But the price was high. To save his homeland, Eloi had to cross all thresholds of morality, honor, and glory. His methods were so filthy that even allies averted their eyes. His death granted him personally nothing but the contempt of his contemporaries, but thanks to his sacrifice, the Kingdom did not vanish into oblivion. Moreover, his lineage achieved unprecedented heights, becoming one of the Great Pillars of the Udenis Empire.
At present, the Kingdom possesses the most developed and extensive spy network on the continent. This web is controlled by the organization “The Sanguinum”. It is a unique dual-purpose mechanism: de jure, “The Sanguinum” perfectly plays the role of a loyal instrument of the Udenis Empire, executing the Crown’s most delicate tasks. But de facto, every agent, every poison, and every secret obeys exclusively House de Wenn.
