Overview
A fairly quiet village… it was. At least until it became a gutter for the rabble fleeing as far as possible from imperial “reforms.” These lands held their silence until the foot of questionable guild dealers stepped upon them. And yet, the village now yields profits to the crown that were once undreamed of.
Following the bloody uprisings of the local Kilui and Zoomorphs in 3781, the village fell under the heavy hand of the House of Wenn. The former patron, Renaud de Valmont, vanished suddenly and quite conveniently, leaving not a single trace behind.
And yet, how cleverly it was sold to the people: House Wenn! The Crown! Standing guard over order and always on the side of their subject village idiots. Tell me, has anything truly changed? Perhaps the lands were returned to the locals? Eh?
The inhabitants welcomed the new protector with open arms. Small wonder—his first decrees that same year promised “common use” of the land plots previously seized from the indigenous residents. However, it was nothing more than a skillful trap.
By the year 3792, the Wenns managed to complete what Renaud de Valmont had envisioned but failed to achieve: the total industrialization of the entire population of the villages within the Skifular region. Now they all, regardless of their former craft, toil for the benefit of the guild and those bound to it within the Kingdom. What the lords call “regional development” is, in truth, a well-oiled machine where the people are merely fuel for the cogs.
