Overview
Tilhengor. A kingdom held together by stubbornness and old stones. This is a story of how long-lived races can persist in their errors for centuries, while humans manage to be born, make a mess of things, and die.
Razumir Lang
They are all sick over there, dammit!
This kingdom could already be called ancient, but “ancient” is usually reserved for kingdoms that have faded into oblivion, while this one still manages—albeit crookedly and creakingly—to stand. The great horned Tilhens emerged to the surface, crushed everyone to smithereens, united with the Clan of Wittah, and together, amicably and heroically, as befits any ambitious sentient being, proceeded with expansion until they butted their ram-like heads against the ambitions of other, equally formidable kingdoms.
And all this happened eight hundred years ago, can you imagine?
At present, the Kingdom of Tilhengor is enduring hard times. It is split apart between supporters of the Crown (Tilhens) and the Opposition (Wittah). The reasons for this are vast:
- Lost Wars.
- The Crown’s rigid, conservative policy.
- Ignorance of borderland problems (which subsequently increased the power of House Wittah).
- Failed social reforms attempting to “destroy the feudal system and vassal treaties.”
And much more…
Lucky they are slow Broths
If this were a human kingdom, the coin would have been flipped three times over by now. And there it would be either death, or hell, or toil, and then death anyway.
» Wwwell then, why do the likes of you labor and sss-strive if, in the end, you claim you will beholld the enddd? »
The Opposition points out the Crown’s weakness, its inability to even raise a brow. The Crown simply ignores the problem, fully focused on defense and attempts to lure the most influential capital guilds to its side. However, the methods the King uses do not play in his favor.
The Wittah, in turn, carefully tend to their vassals and have long since secured the unwavering loyalty of a couple of martial Houses. The only ones breathing down their necks are the House of Jagell.
